Home / Life at Fir Tree
Life doesn't stop
when you move into care.
A weekly programme of activities and entertainment, food that makes the day, and room for quiet moments — life at Fir Tree House is still life, lived your way.
Activities & entertainment
Something for every kind of day.
Our dedicated Entertainment team creates a weekly programme shaped by what residents actually enjoy — and staff and management are always happy to accommodate personal preferences.
Musicians are invited in to perform, friendly dogs visit regularly — and residents may even bring their own dog. There are group trips and meals out, a summer party, a Christmas party, and birthday celebrations to which family and friends are warmly invited.
Just as important is the one-to-one time: someone to sit with you and read the paper, a conversation about the things that matter to you, or help keeping in touch with loved ones by post, email or phone.
- Visiting musicians and singers
- Painting, arts and crafts
- Board games, puzzles and quizzes
- Karaoke afternoons

Food & dining
Meal times are a special part of the day.
Good food makes people happy. Three home-cooked meals a day, morning and afternoon teas with cake often baked by our chef, and snacks, fruit and drinks always within reach. Every preference and dietary requirement is catered for.
Wellbeing
Feeling well, looking well, being well.
Gentle and seated exercise sessions help residents keep moving and mobile. Hairdressing, chiropody and dentist services are all available at the home — because feeling like yourself matters every day, not just on special occasions.
And for days when company isn't what's wanted, there's always a quiet corner, a book, and a pot of tea.
Families
Family doesn't stop at the front door.
Birthdays are celebrated properly — with family and friends invited. Our team helps residents stay in touch with the people they love by post, email and phone, and we keep families close to life at the home through open, honest conversation.
