A home, run like a home.
Fir Tree House exists so that up to 30 elderly residents can live happier, healthier and in a genuinely homely atmosphere — with 24-hour residential, nursing, dementia, palliative and respite care.
Our philosophy
The person first. Always.
Everything at Fir Tree House starts from one belief: growing older shouldn't mean giving up the life that makes you, you.
In practice that means residents are encouraged towards self-care wherever possible, keep genuine choice over their diet, clothes and activities, and are supported by a team that takes time to know each person — their history, their preferences, their sense of humour.
It also means honesty. We'd rather tell you plainly what we do and don't offer than dress anything up. Come and visit — the home speaks for itself.

Fir Tree House is cared for around the clock by nursing and care staff, supported by our chef — whose cakes have something of a reputation at afternoon tea — and a dedicated Entertainment team who build each week's activity programme around residents' preferences.
Staff and management are always available to talk. If you have a question about a loved one, you'll speak to someone who actually knows them.

Fir Tree House Nursing Home is registered with and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England.
