Home / Care

One home.
Different levels of support.

Fir Tree House provides residential, nursing, dementia, palliative and respite care for up to 30 residents — 24 hours a day, in a genuinely homely atmosphere.

01 — Residential care

Independence, with a hand nearby.

Support that helps residents maintain their independence while assistance is quietly available whenever it's needed. Residents are encouraged towards self-care wherever possible, and keep the choice of diet, clothes and activities firmly in their own hands.

02 — Nursing care

Round-the-clock nursing, without the clinical feel.

Twenty-four-hour nursing and personal support in a home that still looks, sounds and feels like a home. Every room is fitted with an emergency call point, and care is shaped around each person's needs and routines.

03 — Dementia care

Familiarity, dignity, individuality.

A comfortable and familiar environment centred around safety, dignity and individuality. Every bedroom at Fir Tree House is dementia-friendly in design, and days are built around what remains familiar and loved.

04 — Palliative care

Comfort, dignity and closeness, when it matters most.

Palliative care at Fir Tree House means nursing and personal support focused on comfort and dignity, in familiar surroundings, with family welcome and close. Our team works alongside each resident's GP and community health professionals, and shapes support around the person's own wishes.

05 — Respite care

A short stay, with the same care as a long one.

A short stay at Fir Tree House — after a hospital stay, to give a family carer a break, or to try living here first. Respite residents have the same room, care, meals and days as everyone else. Availability depends on rooms at the time, so please call to ask.

A gentle place to start

Not sure what kind of care you need?

Three small questions — not a test, and never a diagnosis. Just a way to point you towards the right conversation.

Who are you looking for care for?

What support might they need?

When might care be needed?

Let's help you understand the next step.

Your answers will be filled in for you. Prefer to talk right now? Call 01737 350584.

This isn't a medical or diagnostic tool, and it never decides anything about care. The right level of support is always worked out in person, with you, your family and — where appropriate — the professionals involved in your care.
